The Australian team crossed the 50-run mark in the eighth over. Head hit a six on the second ball of Kuldeep Yadav’s over to take the score past 50.

Mohammed Shami gave India their first breakthrough in the third over of the innings. He got Cooper Connolly caught out by wicketkeeper KL Rahul on the last ball of the over. The ball outside the off stump hit the edge and went into the hands of wicketkeeper Rahul. Where he took the catch.

Mohammed Shami dropped a catch to Travis Head in the very first over of the innings. He bowled the second ball of the over at a good length. Head wanted to defend it, but the ball went to Shami as it hit the edge. Shami tried but the ball slipped out of his hand.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma said-

I was ready to bat and bowl both. When you are confused, it is better to lose the toss. The pitch keeps changing its nature. We have to play good cricket. We have played good cricket in all three Champions Trophy matches and we will try to do the same. This is going to be challenging. The team will play without any changes.

Australia captain Steve Smith said

We will bat. It looks like a very dry surface. India are a very good team. We have made two changes. Cooper Connolly in place of Matthew Short and Tanvir Sangha in place of Spencer Johnson.

India loses toss for 14th consecutive time, Australia will bat first

Australia won the toss and elected to bat. Captain Steve Smith has decided to bat first. Team India has lost the toss for the 14th consecutive time in ODIs. While Rohit Sharma has lost the toss for the 11th consecutive time as captain.
