India wins Women’s Asian Hockey Championship final 2024

Defeated China 1-0, Deepika’s goal was decisive; won the trophy for the third time

India has captured the trophy of the Women’s Asian Hockey Championship held in Rajgir, Bihar. 

Team India defeated China 1-0. In the 31st minute of the first match of the third quarter, Deepika scored the first goal for Team India, which gave India the victory.

In the first and second quarters, both the teams could not score a single goal in the total 30 minutes of play. 

The teams of India and China were tied 0-0. In the second quarter, India got 4 penalty corners, China got 2. However, neither team could convert them into goals.

The final match between the women’s hockeys teams of India and China began at 5 pm at the Rajgir Sports Complex. 

The stadium, which has a capacity of 3,000, was completely filled with spectators. The tricolor was hoisted in the stadium. Slogans of Jai Shri Ram were also raised.

Captured the trophy for the second time in a row
India has won the Asian Champions Trophy for the second consecutive time and the third time overall. It had previously won the Asian Champions Trophy in Ranchi in 2023 and in Singapore in 2016.
Japan was defeated in the semi-finals.

Team India reached the final by defeating Japan on Tuesday. The Indian women’s hockey team has won all 6 matches in this tournament including the group and semi-finals. 

At the same time, China has also won 5 of its 6 matches. China had to face defeat against India in the group match.

Today, this final Trophy  match was held between India and China after 8 years. Earlier, India had defeated China in the final match of this tournament in 2016 and 2013. While in 2009, China had defeated India.

Japan won the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 4-1.

Earlier today, Japan won the bronze medal by defeating Malaysia 4-1. Japan played an aggressive game and scored 4 goals in the first half itself.

Mayuri Horikawa scored in the 3rd minute, Hiroka Murayama in the 24th minute, Ayana Tamura in the 28th minute and Miyu Hasegawa scored the fourth goal before half-time.

Ajmara Azhari made her presence felt for Malaysia by scoring in the 48th minute. The two teams will now face each other in the upcoming Asian Games.
