Under the ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas, Hamas will release 3 ISR hostages today. The names of the three male hostages released are Sagui Dekel-Chen, Sasha Trofanov and Eyre Horn. Hamas has so far released 16 ISR hostages and 5 Thai hostages in 5 phases.

In exchange for today’s hostage release, ISR will release 369 Palestinian prisoners. Of these, 36 are serving life sentences, the remaining 333 prisoners were arrested by ISR after the Gaza war.

On October 7, 2023, thousands of Hamas terrorists attacked ISR , killing 1,200 people. Along with this, more than 250 people were taken hostage.

The ceasefire deal is being completed in three phases.

This deal for the exchange of prisoners between Israel and Palestine began on January 19. This deal will be completed in three phases. In this, the exchange of hostages will be carried out for 42 days.

First stage:

  • There will be a complete ceasefire in Gaza from January 19 to March 1. Hamas will release 33 Israeli hostages. Israel will release 33 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for one of its hostages every day. 50 Palestinian prisoners will be released in exchange for each Israeli female soldier.

Second stage:

  • If everything goes well till the 16th day of the first phase, i.e. February 3, then discussions will begin on planning for the second phase. No attacks will be carried out during this time. The remaining hostages who are still alive will be released.
  • Israel will release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners, about 190 of whom have been serving sentences for more than 15 years.

Third stage:

  • The final phase of the deal will see the rehabilitation of Gaza. This will take 3 to 5 years. The bodies of hostages killed in Hamas captivity will also be handed over to Israel.
