Accident at JK Cement plant in Panna, MP: Roof slab under construction collapses; 5 dead, 30 injured

A major accident took place on Thursday morning at the JK Cement Plant in Panna, Madhya Pradesh. Roof slabs were being laid in the under-construction part of the plant, where hundreds of workers were working. During this, the scaffolding suddenly collapsed, trapping many workers. Initially, there were reports of the death of two workers, which later increased to 5. About 30 workers are said to have been injured.

ASP Aarti Singh said that relief work is being done. Many injured laborers have been referred to the nearby Katni District Hospital. At the same time, efforts are being made to rescue many laborers buried under the rubble.

Even after three hours of the accident, no official information is being given by the administration and management. The main gate of the plant has been closed. Only the administration and employees as well as the SDRF team are inside the plant. The dead and injured have not been taken out of the rubble yet. Ambulances are standing by, but not a single ambulance has come out of the plant.
