Modi said- BRICS represents 40% humanity and 20% economy
PM Modi welcomed the new countries during his address. He said the new format represents 40% of the world’s humanity and about 20% of the economy.
The organization has achieved many achievements in the last two decades. I hope that summit will emerge as a more effective vehicle for global challenges.
A close plenary meeting of Summit was held in Kazan, Russia on Wednesday. In which Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that there is no place for double standards on terrorism.
He said BRICS countries have to come together and face this. He also talked about reforming the UNSC. He said that India is ready to welcome new countries into summit.
Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping shortly. After the announcement of de-escalation of tension along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), the two will hold bilateral talks.
This will be the first bilateral meeting between the two leaders since the Galwan clash in 2020.

The President of Russia said in the meeting, “We have such relations with you that it does not seem that there will be a need for translation.” Hearing this, all the people present in the meeting started laughing.
He further said that, ‘We consider the ongoing cooperation between Russia and India to be very important. Both countries are original members of Summit .
