An Air India Boeing 171 plane crashed in the Meghaninagar IGP compound in Ahmedabad city. The plane took off at 1.38 am and crashed at 1.40 am, hitting a building. There were around 200 passengers and cargo on board.
The fire and police have received the message. Following which they have left for the scene. All roads have been closed following this accident.

So far, 50 bodies have been recovered.

Civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu said that he is shocked and devastated to learn about the flight crash in Ahmedabad.
“We are on highest alert. I am personally monitoring the situation and have directed all aviation and emergency response agencies to take swift and coordinated action,” Naidu said.
The minister added that rescue teams have been mobilised and efforts are being made to ensure medical aid and relief support are being rushed to the site. “My thoughts and prayers are with all those on board and their families,” he adds.
