Russia tests ballistic missile at Ukraine: Putin threatens Western countries – We will also attack countries that help Ukraine

RussianPresident Vladimir Putin made a surprise address to the nation hours after the missile attack on Ukraine. According to Reuters, he said Russia had tested a ‘new’ intermediate-range ballistic missile in response to the Western attack. Putin said that we have the right to attack those who attack us.

Putin named the missile ‘Oreshnik’. He said it hits targets at a speed of 2.5 to 3 km per second. Putin warned Western countries that Moscow could attack military bases of any country that helps Ukraine.
Russia launched a deadly missile attack on the Ukrainian city of Dnipro on Thursday morning. Ukrainian President Zelensky claimed that Russia had launched the attack with an intercontinental missile (ICBM). However, US officials yesterday rejected Zelensky’s claim.

Putin said that if Russia uses hypersonic weapons, it will warn people there to evacuate safely before the attack. He said that American air defense systems will never be able to stop Russian missiles.
Putin also said that Ukraine receiving weapons from Western countries would not have any impact on the outcome of the war.

Ukraine rains ATACMS on Russia
With the Biden government’s approval, Ukraine fired six long-range ATACMS missiles, supplied by the US, into Russia’s Bryansk region for the first time. Russia claimed to have shot down five missiles.

To prevent the Russian military buildup in eastern Ukraine, US President Biden decided to provide anti-personnel land mines to Ukraine. The US had asked Ukraine to use these land mines only within Ukraine’s borders.
