Ten people were killed in a shooting at an adult school in Sweden on Tuesday. One person was seriously injured in the attack. According to local newspaper Swedish Herald, the shooting took place at 1 pm at the Risborgska School in the city of Orebro, 200 km west of the capital Stockholm. The incident occurred when most of the students were present at the school.

Swedish police said – Police said they are identifying the deceased. They are trying to determine the motive of the attackers but at present they do not believe the incident is linked to terrorism. The number of injured may also increase.

The threat is still present and people have been advised to stay away from the area. Several local media reports have suggested that the attacker is of Syrian origin. However, this has not been officially announced.

According to a Reuters report, 40 people were shot dead in Sweden in December 2024. This is a very bad number for a European country with a population of 10 million people. Experts believe that Muslim immigrants from the Middle East and Balkan countries are behind the violence in Sweden. In Europe, only Albania and Montenegro are ahead of Sweden in terms of gun deaths.

Criminologist Ardavan Khoshnud says that about 90% of criminals in Sweden have an immigrant background but they are not based on any religion. He said that these people are involved in drug trafficking. This is the reason why incidents like gang wars have increased in the country.
