The plane will land at Amritsar Airport; 8-10 Gujaratis, 33 from Haryana and maximum 67 from Punjab
The second batch of illegal immigrant Indians from America is arriving at Amritsar airport in Punjab today (February 15) at 10 pm on Saturday. In this, 119 Indians will be forcibly sent back. This includes 67 from Punjab and 33 from Haryana. During this, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will also go to the airport and meet the deported Punjabis. After this, on February 16, Sunday at 10 pm, a plane carrying 157 Indians will reach Amritsar. This flight coming on Saturday also includes 8-10 Gujaratis.
Earlier, on February 5, 104 Indians were taken to Amritsar in a US Air Force plane Globemaster. These people were brought with handcuffs on their hands and shackles on their legs. No information has come out yet on how the Indians will be deported this time, whether they will be sent back in handcuffs.
Punjab CM said – Amritsar landing is a conspiracy to defame Punjabis
Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, who reached Amritsar on Friday evening, said, “It is wrong to land planes of illegal immigrants in Punjab. This is a conspiracy to defame Punjab. People who have gone to America illegally are being deported. Earlier, people who were deported also included people from various states. Then why are planes being landed in Amritsar?”
Finance Minister said – Punjab is being defamed
Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema has raised questions over the landing of an American plane carrying illegal Indian immigrants in Punjab. He said, “By doing this, the central government wants to defame Punjab. Why don’t they land the planes in Gujarat, Haryana or Delhi?”
Indians deported in army plane for the first time
The last US military plane to deport Indian immigrants took off from San Antonio, USA at 3 am on February 4. This was the first time that the US used a military plane to deport Indian immigrants. Earlier, different reports were claiming that the US had identified a total of 205 illegal Indians for deportation.
There are about 7 lakh illegal Indian immigrants in America.
According to the Pew Research Center, there will be more than 7 lakh illegal immigrants from India in the US by 2023. This is the highest after Mexico and El Salvador. According to the government agency (ICE) that deals with illegal immigrants in the US, an average of 90 thousand Indian citizens have been caught trying to enter illegally in the last 3 years. A large portion of these immigrants are coming from Punjab, Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh.
Why is Trump deporting illegal immigrants?
As soon as Trump took the oath of office on January 20, Trump signed an executive order banning the entry of illegal immigrants. During the election campaign, Trump also promised to expel illegal immigrants from the country.
He demanded the largest deportation in American history. Trump believes that people from other countries illegally enter the United States and commit crimes. A large portion of jobs here belong to immigrants, due to which Americans do not get jobs.
Trump signed the ‘Laken Riley Act’, the first law of his second term. Under this law, federal officials are allowed to detain illegal immigrants. They have the authority to deport people involved in any criminal activities.
