Trump begins deporting illegal Indians – Military plane carrying immigrants leaves from America, will reach India tonight

US President Donald Trump has intensified the crackdown on illegal immigrants. On Monday, a military plane carrying illegal immigrants from America left for India.

According to news agency Reuters, a C-17 plane carrying illegal immigrants took off for India on Monday, but it will take at least 24 hours to arrive.

However, it has not yet been confirmed how many people were on board the flight. Reuters also did not disclose the plane’s takeoff time.

In fact, Trump promised the largest deportation in American history. After this, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) prepared a list of 1.5 million illegal immigrants, which included 18,000 Indians.

There are 7.25 lakh illegal Indian immigrants in America

According to data from the Pew Research Center, there are about 7.25 lakh illegal Indian immigrants living in the US. This figure is the third largest number of illegal immigrants. In the first place are immigrants from Mexico and in the second place are immigrants from El Salvador.

Last month, the Indian government said that India is always ready to take back Indian citizens living illegally in the US. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said that India is investigating how many Indians are living illegally in the US and whether they can be deported. However, he also said that the exact number of such people is not yet known.

In January, President Trump had said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would make the right decision on the matter and take responsibility for taking back Indian citizens living illegally in the US. This statement came after a phone conversation between the two leaders, in which several important issues were discussed.

Migrants from Guatemala, Peru and Honduras were also deported.

The US Department of Defense, the Pentagon, has also begun providing military aircraft to help repatriate more than 5,000 illegal immigrants detained in El Paso, Texas, and San Diego, California. So far, migrants from Guatemala, Peru, and Honduras have been deported from the US by military aircraft.
